Derek Fenech is an illustrator who has been scribbling magical animals, whimsical humans and lands without boredom, since he was a child. Unfortunately he grew up, but to his joy he discovered that the magic was still there to help writers and imagineers narrate their stories. Some of his fellow humans were so happy that they gave him an award as Illustrator of the Year in 2010. He was delighted. When he is not drawing, Derek designs things, cooks, collects old typography (a very difficult word to describe alphabet letters) and becomes a pirate with his two sons and wife.
